the boys came running up at the same time an officer trotted up on the hill and every gun in the valley seemed to open up at once. oh say by it was grand talk about fire work displays. why this has them skined a thousand ways. the whole valley was a sheet of flame. the wind was blowing strong away from us. so we could only hear the heavies, but you could see the eighteen pounders little barks of flame flashing all over. that is the way ours was fireing with a big can of water and oil and a big swab to cool her of. oh there is a class to us - will say talk about a variety of colours and lights Fritz s.o.s. started to go up there was big red flares - green flares green lights that went a broke into two and three seperate lights. white lights go up and break into red and green. two big sprays just like
