Paynesly Tunnel - This tunnel was about 500 yds long as I recollect, it began in our front line area in front of Neuville St. Vaast & came upon the German lines - It was built in prepar'n for Vimy show & was big enough to take cavalry through - dismounted - It was used in the attack but principally for shelter.
