To Lieut Archer (wounded with me in a later operation)

You will please proceed at once to Battn Hqrs and remain there with Major Graham. Hand this message to Mr Crease please

To Mr. Crease

You will have to report in at once to Major Ross in the trenches. Mr. Archer will take your place at Battn Hqrs.

This was the taking of the trench in front of Courcelette.
