Thurs 19 July - Gampe de Sainte Fairville Memorial de la Santa CAsa Or Lorette 4 Aout 1916 Gagrde gloire sh ou protection pour nos vaillants Soldats .Mrs D. de L. - Priez pour nous - a burst of battered French rifle stocks on the left

Sund 22 July - Col JM Ross given 5th Bde. Bn left Bouvigny huts & went into line in Lews Sector - Lateiny Ave & your 18th & 19th Bn.

Monday 23: Major Latta now CO. Fine.

Tuesday 24th - Heavy bombardment in early morning of left front & attempted raid on outpost - 7 casualties. This night relieved by 54th Bn & moved into support same sector.

Wed 25 July - This night relieved by 87th Bn & moved into Div Reserve at Maroc . Rather exciting ride throught the darkness. H - these billets - almost deafened by our own artillery. Had 19 casualties from 1 shell. Weather variable. Working parties every night.
