Travelled in boxcar with sevl otr offrs includg V.G. Tupper of 16th Bn. Slept well - [illegible]

Oct 7 Arrd at Abbeville at midnight and stayed for 12 hours. Some of us went into the delightful town & had excellent meal at Hotel Tete de Boeuf but nearly missed our train. Arrd Etaples at 4. Had tea and a bath at British Offrs Club then reported at Le Touquet Lewis Gun School Infant. Very wet. No supper except Bully beef.

Oct 8 Sunday. Parades in am. In pm with Tupper to Paris Plaza. Fine but cold & windy. Quite deserted but about 3:30 when people appd. Had wonderful patisserie and a good dinner at Hotel Fleury

Oct 9 Parade 7 am Bkfast 8. Parade Men 9 - 1 & again 2:15 - 4:14 Good instruction 8 offrs w instr With Tupper walked to Paris Plaza & had tea at charming place near Duch. of West'r Street
