My dear brother

A little while ago I said that I might draw on the credit you established for me with the Bank of BNA to the extent of $100 for the benefit of my C. Co.

Now I am going to do worse than that -

We want to give all the men a taste of Christmas if we can & regimental funds are practically absent - For months pass the men have had no relaxation, no amusements of any kind & only strict army rations which have themselves been restricted. For one day
