As part of the Chinese Historical Wrongs Legacy Initiative, we’ve digitized a small selection of inquests and inquiries from 1872 to 1934, found in series GR-0431. These were chosen to reflect the experiences of early Chinese immigrants to B.C. – their living and working conditions, and their unfortunate accidental or unusual deaths.   They range from a woman working in a brothel in Barkerville who died of natural causes to three sawmill workers who died from malnutrition. Learn more.

To Mr Young - Gormans body was put at the corner of the member from [?] propped up against a post by his box. His feet were uphill. He was not touching the ground. That was on the opposite side of the pillar from the entrance to the tunnel.

At the request of Mr Eberts counsel for the Government the request was adjourned by me until the 16th June at 2 PM. This was to allow of the face of the slope being examined and expert evidence put in -
