Myself loading the battalion a distance of 25 miles – we remained at – Sutton Veney until sometime in Sept when its batt: proceeded overseas myself being transferred to the 10th Duke of Cornwalls (Pioneers) Light Infantry & pending my transfer I was attached to the 1st HCLIat Warefrom for only four days which was quite enough - then my transfer was through & I proceeded to join the 10th DCLI on Haybe in Cornwall
