Pat made some excuse to open a window, complaining of the closeness. He then worked around getting into a favorable position and jumped out the window with the train moving over 30 miles an hour! Of course he was knocked unconscious for a short time, but as the train was not stopped till it was nearly two miles farther on he managed to get away and hide.
