We were lucky to make out OK as we saw where a boat had been sunk about 12 hours before we passed the same spot, several lifeboats were floating about upside down & all kinds of wreckage. We saw the American troops disembarking, all kinds of them, they were certainly a fine looking bit of men & I bet will give a good account of themselves. Our quarantine here will soon lift. I have already applied for leave ,& expect to run up to Edinburgh to see the the T.P.s & see what can be done about Imperial Commission.
