My Dear Miss Leighton,
I was awfully glad to receive you letter which was forwarded to me here last month. I should have answered before but it is the very deuce to get a chance to write in this convalescent home where every- thing is mapped out for you. At present I am writing this at 5.30 A.M. in bed -- wouldn't that jar you?
Your letter is the most cheerful thing I have had for a long
