My dear Dodie,

Thank you so much for your letter of Jan : 18th. You like addressing your letters to a different [?] each time, c/o Admiralty this time, there is nothing like a bit of variation. Since you really want to know how to address them, here you are (H.M. Submarine H.3. c/o g.p.o, London.), if you like you may honour me with the rank of Lieut. Comdr, but that doesn't matter a bit. I do not mind what you call as long as I get your letters. Your letter [?] me up no end as your father has [?] fallen on his [?] and it makes me glad to think that you are looking forward to better times again. I should like to have [?] you in your [?], [?] [?] sounds attractive as [?] [?] your [?], but from what I remember of you you would look charming on any old [?]. (Butter). I seem to be as unfortunate as you do about [?]
