My dear Dodie,

Thank you so much for your letter of Jan : 18th. You like addressing your letters to a different place each time, c/o Admiralty this time, there is nothing like a bit of variation. Since you really want to know how to address them, here you are-->, if you like you may honour me with the rank of Lieut. Comdr, but that doesn't matter a bit. I do not mind what you call as long as I get your letters.

Your letter bucked me up no end as your father has apparently fallen on his feet and it makes me glad to think that you are looking forward to better times again.

I should like to have seen you in your Revue, it certainly sounds attractive as also does your dress, but from what I remember of you you would look charming in any old dress. (Butter).
