was also shelled by us & good deal of damage done to their wire.

A party of engineers preceded by a covering party of 2 officers & 15 men successfully blew up a house between the lines near the Wulverghem Messines Road. This house had been previously recommitted & found to be wired and fortified. It was completely demolished & only a portion of the chimney left standing.

Extract from German soldiers diary.

"Liet. Reincher is drunk ----- " " is again drunk -- "This evening our Lieut. Reincher went sick "Today we made an attack---Lieut. Reincher could be heard ceaselessly shouting 'Vorwarts! from the 2d Line dugouts

A final entry mentions, "Our Lieut. Reincher has been awarded Iron Cross
