Artillery observers report that the Petit Bois (N24a is apparently a mass of underground works & is heavily wired. Wire chevaux de Frise variety in front of the wood. General - a German Flying Officer, now in town wounded states they have orders to throw out all important documents if the machine is forced to descend within our lines. Jaeger Schutzen, Jaeger zu Pferde & Gendarmerie wear as before grey green instead of field grey. Jacket - a field grey 'smock' takes the place of the old tunic, without musketry, signaling or layers badges officers may wear a short tunic 'kleiner smock' Piping on shoulder straps & cuffs- white for infantry. Bright green for jaegers Red - Field artillery. Dull blue for T? Yellow for foot artillery. Black & red for Pioneers.
