I am writing this in the Q.M. Store. I started at 2 P.M, every few lines I was interupted till 430, then rushed off to tea, Bread & Butter very limited & a boul of T. not the kind I made a home & never thought to be the same beverage that Mrs Tregillus used to make for us at our Sunday Night Good timer. But it is wet & hot. got back 4,55 til 730 no write at all 730 till now 930 had many starts but never more than a line or two till now 915 when all seen to be done for the time about 10 p.m. men (139) will be coming in till 1230 Perhaps 130 to draw their kits (stored in this hut) & 3 blankets & to be directed to where they can find a tent to stick in. Just had to stop & explain to a queer guy that I can not make a pull through & that we have none. it took 7 or 8 minutes to chase him. But he is a poor worried conscript & I could not be Harsh with him. He broke his pull through & we have none in just now. He is scared of punishment for a dirty riffle. I told him to borrow his mates he said his mate was still at home. I explained that the soldier next to him at the time he wanted to borrow any thing was his mate. The men returning have been on last leave befor going overseas. Many will be absent in the morning.
