We were 25 days on the ship. Had two short spells of sub threat but they turned out to be British craft. also once in mid ocean a strang smoke showed up We veered off but it turned out to be O.K. Were quite a large convoy. Had a very steady ship & not too crowded but the WX was not good. too much fog & cold & rain. I have not met any one I know as we are off the line of concentration of my old comrades. I expect to be sent on leave in a few days & shall go to Eastbourne. I would like to go to London as there I might see some old comrades but I want still more to go home& on the pay I get
