Salisbury Plains Nov 17 A friend of mine sent me a "garnet"(?) - in it I saw your picture. I told Capt F that you had sent it to me and he is in a terrible state of mind as he thought you should have sent him one. I have [illegible] before sharing every tryst. It is very cold indeed.
