I told him I had learned that one cannot e too careful in a strange field and that I had gained confidence in my flying in making a successful forced landing. "That's good," he said. "I don't give a damn aboutt he machine if you will only learn something. from your mistakes." And the machines cost $7500 each, whilc I did well over $2000 damage to that one!
