My dear Dodie: Your letter of November 12th came this morning (July 29th) and oh it did please me so very much! Your mention of my Pater's health is the first news I have had about him for a very long time. For the past few months I know I felt something was wrong with him & it has worried me more than if they has written at home about it all. Dodie isn't it silly of them to try to keep things away from me? Do they imagine that I am a milk fed invalid incapable of standing depressing news. They seem to forget that ___ actually wants and even likes to share something that worries other. Do they prefer to leave me worry about myself? Few people in this world don't worry but I am not one of them thank God. What in Hades have I to occupy my mind but to think & worry about the ___ I love & like? Dodie please
