My maids take an awful time coming now and they came through here in a sealed bag that goes all the way up to Lemmas[?] where it is sorted and then comes down again; so I get mine a fortnight after they arrive at Malta.

What do you think of the way they get off the men from the Peninsula with only their [?]? It was a good bit of work. No one here seems to take much interest in what is going on in France, I am not surprised, if only [?] knew of what is going on out here. I think that you will probably all be very much surprised before long.

What do you think of the way they got off the men from the Peninsula with only three casualties? It was a good bit of work. No one here seems to take much interest in what is going on in France, I am not surprised, if only people knew of what is going on out here. I think that you will probably all be very much surprised before long.
