We regret that we did not persuade him to come home and see us before enlisting, but none of us thought the war would have lasted so long. Our younger Son Harold expects his discharge next month he has never fully recovered from the enteric fever and has been pronounced unfit for Active duty. We have some splendid photos of Jack from London, I am sending three to Mr Gates, one for himself and one for you. I thought it would be better to send them under one cover.
With many thanks for your letter and with kindness regards to you all from each one of us
Ever your sincere friend Anna M. Mitchell
Please remember us very kindly to Mrs Copley.
