Out with observers' class all morning - resecting & laying out lines of fire. Walk to New Romney & Littlestone with Creery - continual succession of thunder storms. Romney church 1100 ad. - 3' below present street level - tidal wave.

Brigade orderly officer - take working party from 122, 124 & 133 Blg & dig 220' trench in the shingle - having bad time with my head.
