Wednesday - Nov 3rd Mme Leprevost & Betty have breakfast ready for me at 430. Train leaves 6pm-still raining. Arrive Boulogne noon - very slow travelling. Sun breaks out just as we get out first view of the sea. 2000 leave men in all from every regiment in France - most of the soaking wet & stained with trench mud - splendid trip across, altho several seasick-Destroyer convoys  ?? ??? miles from Folkestone where a lane of netting commences. The SS 'Victoria" black with men-standing room only-one chap next me has a kitten in his pocket-says he got it in the trenches & is taking it home to have it educated as an honest English cat. Jammed in pretty tight in the train - Good to see the honest English faces of the girls waving at the train - Good too to think they haven't give over waving at soldiers - Sun still shining & everything such a terrible
