on though otherwise just the same, troops, guns supplies etc coming up in great masses from the rear & we are all pressing forward doing long marches to take up our positions "somewhere on the Rhine." I don't suppose there's much chance of the Huns starting anything fresh when we get into their country but if they do I pity them. Personally I should like to see them try something on, so that it would give us a good excuse to raze a few of their towns to the ground, it will be a crying shame if all their towns are left whole. They should have a taste of what France has suffered for 4 years, so that the German people might realize what it is to be left homeless, etc etc! We will cross the German frontier within the next day or so, it will seem quite queer in a way when we start tramping on German soil, I am
