Waterloo The Lion.

9 A mound erected in 1825-6 with soil taken from the crest of the tragic ditch of Ohain, where the magnificent charge of the French Calvary broke down. This mound 50 metres in height supports a lion in cast-iron measuring 4.50 metres and weighing 18,000 kilo. This monument was erected at the spot where the Prince of Orange was wounded, whilst leading the Dutch Belgian troops.
