on the machine gun, so that we are about ½ way through the actual gun course. after that is over we have a 3 week barrage course to take, so you can see I have a good deal of work before me yet. We have an exam after each week of work to see how we are getting along. I have made out OK so far. We had some more firing on the ranges last week, which was interesting. A draft of about 13 officers left this depot last week for France, & I hear another draft about the same size is leaving this coming week, so that soon, one will have a little more elbow room in the camp! I hear the Canadian depots & battalions in France are away over strength at the present time, so they ought to be in good shape when things starts moving on their part of the line. By the way Eric MacCallum arrived at the Segregation camp here about 10 days ago with his draft, he came over here & looked me up. I was awfully glad to see him, we had a long "pow wow" together Apart from having that ass Tweedale on the boat, he seems to have enjoyed the trip very much, they stopped at Jamaica for about 3 days & also at New York, so it made a pleasant
