Please note that No 40563 NASH, L, lately lance Corporal (but now a Private) was an unpaid Lce Corporal; and also that L-Corpl WINDSOR, whose destination seems uncertain is also of unpaid rank.

Therefore, in the event of L.Cpl Slim's promotion to Corporal being approved by the C.O., it would seem that the number of paid Lance-Corporals would then be correct.
