April 30th Very busy all day. Capt Bowmen R.E. Called on me & we had a nice visit. Guns quite busy. Good news. Letter from Jessie & Winston from [illegible] Wrote Mar & Percy also [illegible] Very tired.

May 1st A beautiful day. Our big guns very busy in morning. Great deal of air activity. Saw several Tank fights with our air men. Saw one of our ammunition dumps blown up at MARUEIL, possibly from a German Tank.

May 2nd Glorious day. Very busy. Saw Bosh shelling ARRAS. In evening we had 4 bombs dropped near us & could hear machine gun fire plainly probably from our air craft. Very terrific explosion. Saw James from Kuggin at AGNEZ. Closed imprest account. Heavy bombardment. Later 7 & 8 P.M. bombs about 9:30 P.M. At 11:15 P.M. 4 more bombs, men O.K.

May 3rd Great many air flights. Cycled to
