I receive the Colonist & Times fairly regularly and gleam some interesting items from there from time. News from the Bldgs is not very extensive but the papers only get items of general interest. I was greatly interested to read of Miss Bowser's wedding which was a swell affair I spose.

While in hospital I noticed in "Canada" the announcement of Mr. McIntyre's death and it gave me a shock. His loss will be greatly felt and general sympathy expressed for those left behind.

That same day, an hour or two after I read it, in came your card mentioning the fact, so I confirmed in it at once.

All is quiet along the Western front & the Canadians are resting. It feels like a lull before another storm. Is there even going to be an end to this murderous mess? God forbid that we sh'd quit before the nail is driven right into Germany's coffin, but I think most of us are ready for a little peace and quietness.
