Army Form C. 337. BRITISH EMPIRE. ARMY CERTIFICATE OF IDENTITY FOR CIVILIANS WEARING THE RED CROSS BRASSARD.

Extract from Regulations.

Voluntary medical units will be required to adhere to the Service Regulations governing the constitution, personnel and equipment for war, of the corresponding unit in the army. They will come under the orders of the military authorities and be incorporated with the medical units of the army in such a manner and for such purposes as the Commander-in-Chief may determine. Sec. 84, Para. 4, Field Service Regulations.

An arm badge with the Geneva Cross will be issued by the military authorities (as a rule the director of medical services to individuals neutralized. Such badges must bear the official stamp of the medical department, and with them will be furnished an official certificate for such persons as do not wear a military uniform, bearing a number and date corresponding with the stamp and the register of issues. Sec. 85, para. 3, Field Service Regulations.

The personnel protected shall wear, fixed+ to the left arm, an armlet (brassard) with a red cross on a white ground. Article 20, The Geneva Convention, 1906.

+The brassard should be "STITCHED" to the left sleeve above the elbow.
