FOR GOD FOR KING AND FOR COUNTRY

CANADA Y.M.C.A.

WITH THE CANADIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE ON ACTIVE SERVICE

J. Roddie & Peet Ross are here. Jefferson is out of Army & in a dead eddy & idle. I am certain I can if I get of A. get a Job of some sort at fair pay, notwithstanding what some say. The returned soldiers club is no good to us it is cloged with dead heads & fake soldiers not returned fighting men. We get lots of good grub in Barracks it seems wonderfull to see so much grub around. Some in Van are the very best but there is a great waste of food & labour both very badly needed in other places, Petrol in unlimited quantities & in Eng & France. Red X women often push a little cart with tea & buns to get to a station to give a drinks & bun to soldiers. No Moter Car to be got. I hear a rumor from Cariboo that Maurice Davis is dead lately. if I get to Vic., I go too see them. I will write again as soon as I have any thing to tell you. My respects to Mrs T.

I am Yours Truly Ernest Seeley
