I could have gone to Blighty twice from the Hospital but asked the Dr. not to send me as was afraid I would not get out again but be made a bright button soldier at an English Base. I joined up as a war soldier & as yet have not lost one bit of the willingness to see it through. This is my fight & I do not want any one else to do my share of the fighting. This is not a boastfull but a plain statement of fact as I feel it; & I always try to write you of things as they seem to me. I must not speak of military things but I think I may give my private opinion that I have every hope to see us have a much easier time than last summer in our fights. The fear of the British offensive is very strong in most of the Fritz Batts & they will not put up near as strong a defensive as last year seems almost certain, also we
