Shaw & Moffat are not there. G. Shaw was much pleased when I repeated to him your remarks re a future premier he is well pleased with this life & is getting on fine as far as I can see he does not drink much. R. Norrie also is going very well as is Jack Westover. G. Turner too often gets on a small gag but I feel sure will soon cut it out. I am sorry he has been full as much as he has as there by he missed being made a L. C. Worth Dwyer & Barlow are to get a stripe in a day or two I have won mine now nearly 20 days. I have been made to practice twice drilling a platoon once with our own which resented it & execueted the orders in a very slovenely way & our Co S.M. who ordered me to drill them noticed it & told me that I did much better drilling them than they did doing it. The other time was with a strange platoon (44 men) but they took it in good part & after I had drilled them a while the S.M. took them & mixed them in a knot & then said Seeley Here they are all tied up, untie them & put them in to platoon
