My Darling Mother

Your very welcome letter came a few days ago. I am always glad to get your letters. It is not very often that I hear from anyone it is my own fault because I only write to you and Betty. The boys are in the trenches now and I am going in quickly. it has been pretty quiet lately. but nevertheless we will all be glad when they move us out of these parts.

I am in the 8th Brdg. Machine Gun Co. now but I am going to try and get back to the old bunch when they come out this time. I saw a lot of the McGill boys I was with. they are in the Pats.

Tom Carew has gone down to the base with measles. I see most of Vernon boys when they are out
