present employed on some big government work somewhere in the British Isles, he has been there for nearly two years, & Eleanors husband Bright is in France, twice in hospital, & been recently promoted to Lieut. he joined as a volunteer & soon made headway, & I am the only one who is doing nothing but it can't be helped - I can't tell you a thing about what is going to happen after we eventually get out of here, but the only thing I hope is that I may eventually see you again - when & where I dont know, but hope for the best. Do you know we have now been over two years here in Ruhleben, but the curious thing is, I know nothing of the district as I have never been outside, don't know what it will be like to be free again - never did such a long stretch before. Wish I could send you a few cigarettes, do you still enjoy a quiet smoke? I think all my beloved sisters do, it seems everybody has taken the craze on
