the names I have given it during the last few months would fill a book. In the spells I have had when away from hospital I have managed to put in a good time especially when convalescing at Brighton. There was a cheery crowd at the Home and the life to me if only for its supreme laziness was ideal. And Brighton is amusing at the dullest of times. At different times in town I have seen nearly every man I knew in B.C. and I can't imagine what it must be like there now - I mean B.C. Gilliat and I had tea with Molly Sperling one Sunday. She is quite the grande dame de Londres now even if she does only live at Hampstead! Also saw Nanno Baker once or twice. Arthur Black after being promised a commission in his own battalion the 16th waited a long time and finally got tired of it and transferred to the H.L.I. His address is 3/9th Highland Light Infantry, North Camp, Ripon, York. Had dinner and did a show with him, his missus, and the other brothers wife in town the other day.
