Aug - Meredith who had gone to RPM staff came to see me - Orders to move again. Rode 15 miles through the middle of the battlefield to Boubellerie - host of Div Hqrs met together again.

20. On the move again - Col Story & I in charge of Entraining of Divn - All night till 3 am. - Saw 2qn Major Wilmot in command. Stopped at Boutillerie Chan for remainder of night . Hot day - very dusty - Full moon wh. was fortunately obscured by a mist. Entraining completed satisfactorily without bombing or shelling.

21. V. hot & dusty - Col Story , Maj Birch & I motored up to 5th GSB - Lunched & dined with Col Springer Campbell (Winnipeg) at 4 CCB near Boves. After had magnificent swim in Avre - much amused at boatful of nearly naked Chinese floating down river in boat flaying concertina - Naked - Bright copper wires flashing under arch of dark green trees against dark blue distance - V. hot all day . After unbussing 5th Bde we started in our car for Haute Cote by moonlight - Very dusty.
