Apl 19 - Some snow. Bde on left made small raid in front of Tel Hill. About 8 pm. SOS put up in front line to our left wh. was followed by heavy artillery strafe - Looked like trouble so moved to Battle Hqrs & got ready - Shelling did not extend beyond left Co. Some gas shelling. About 9.30 pm. everything normal - no casualties - Connecting up our front line. Our patrols in touch with enemy - bombing.

20. Cold fine & frosty. At 4.30 am. enemy shelled front line & support using some gas. Scattered shelling all day. No casualties. About 8 pm. gas shelling in our rear on Marble Arch wh. looked as if relief expected. Patrols again in touch with enemy - bombing . Considerable artillery & lvg activity on Tel. Hill. Relieved by 20th Bn - 2 cas. during relief & 20th had 4 chiefly from gas. Relief complete at 12.35 am. Bn marched to Baileulval Basseus - Had a neat ride out. All got in about 4.30 am.

21. Sunday - Went for a walk with new Chaplain Capt Morgan. Lovely day.

22. Fine & bright - Reported to Col D.W.B. Strong DAAC(a) at 2nd Cdn. Div. Hqrs at Basseux for spec'l court martial duty.
