Apl 14. Bn went forward via Neuville St Vaash without definitive orders. Eventually made [Sufqrs?] in O.G2 near Litchfield Crater on old front line & Fokker Tunnel. Weather cold but fine. [illegible]. Found one of our runners lying dead. Evidently killed in attack - buried him there.

Apl 15, Sund. Weak & disagreeable moved up to line of observation on forward end of Vimy R. with Bn H.Q. in Thelus came when we captured Boche Arty Bde corridor during the attack.

Apl 16 - Effect of our shell fire on strong places indescribable. Thelus hill sunken road obliterated & ground up. Views of the Ridge over the plains of the promised land beyond Leus on the north & areas on the South most inspiring - What a difficulty - weather bad. Some of our men much exposed. French advanced on a 40 mile front.

Apl 17. Weather much better. [illegible]. activity all sound us but our own area rather quiet .

Apl 18. Snow & rain. Moved forward to push in front of Vimy - Bn H.Q. in [illegible] position in East side of Rlwy Embankment we Sta. Considerable shelling on the culvert and hills as we came
