1917 Mch 11 - Millie Langley rode over for a visit.

12. Charlie Polley QM left for England.

14. Col. Raus Culbin (formerly of 88th/Col [illegible] of 1st Bn lunched with us at braissiere Bouche & stayed night.

18. Lieut over to Chan de la Haie wtih Col Cullin & found Caren Martin there on Bde staff

22. Arthur Lane paid us a call - also Pte Pabusr (my former office boy - subsequently full fledged flying offr (pilot). During all this period the Bn had been training vigorously over a taped & marked course for our part in the attack on Vimy Ridge - 25th Bn came in take over - 2nd [illegible] went to the line to prospect.

23. Marched to Bois des Aldeux near [illegible] St Eloi which is about 5 miles from Arras. In eveing (the Bn having moved up) walked to Neville St Vaast & took up our quarters in the famous [Leichester?] House (a long brick cellar with very over head protection). The tower wh. had been a flourishing & fashionable [illegible] for the
