Weddy July 5 Baird left for unknown destinn at front. Later Andrews McKenzie & I were ordered to report to Otterpool at once & so packed up & motored over. Later caught 1st train to London. Reached [illegible] at 5.15

Thurs July 6 Left for London again at 8.10. Bought outfit. Left Liverpool St 3.10. Reached Carleton about 7 pm. Found Uncle & Jess & Frank children Bridget Sally & Mary. Bicycled over to Caistor to see Cecil & Con Gurney. Lovely house & garden.

Frid July 7. Went round the place with Jess before bkfast. She drove me to [illegible] looking in at the Church & churchyard on the way. Raining. Arrd to leave surplus baggage of Carleton sending it to Hethersett GER.
