On the train for Folkestone

15 Nov 1918

My dear brother

Though we have not yet reached peace we are on the high road to it and may now look forward to the possibility of a return home. Besides the strong desire to return home I am now anxious to get back to relieve you & Fowkes somewhat of the great burdens you have been carrying for me. Possibly you can do something through the O.C. Military District. The best grounds would be Mother's great age & my various trusteeships, the taking in hand of my private interests and the fact that in the wind up or management of some of the affairs I had in hand when I left my personal knowledge must be required. Anything in that line must be done from that end.
