My dear brother

Thank you for setting up the Mutual Life $3000 policy for me. The arrangement is quite satisfactory We are in excellent billets here and very comfortable. The men are enjoying the first period of real rest they have had since the beginning of the year. It will not be long nor would we wish it to be so if our continued activity means keeping the Boche on the move in the right direction. We are bothered with neither shells nor bombs, a unique experience.

Next Sunday I hope to be in England. When I get back or soon after I expect to go to Army Hdqrs with a view to qualifying finally for judge advocate work. After a period of that I shall be sent back to Corps where they will keep me if I am approved & my duties will then be to cover court marital work in whatever division I may be assigned to and also to cover disciplinary work at Corps in conjunction with my fellow conspirators on the job. Brian knows them well enough. In fact it will be the same work as he was doing
