The thermometer registers below zero every night here, so they say, and it is probably correct for one hears the big trees cracking in the frost and the swiftly flowing Meuse is rapidly becoming blocked with ice. The days however are lovely with bright sunshine & ground covered with snow. We have been taking at least an hour's good walk every day and at the end even without a coat the air seems quite balmy.
