that & succeeding nights my duties brought me into contact with the Divisional Sanitary Officer. I found out that he was a Capt Richardson & that he was a former Medical &uperintendent of the Jubilee Hospital.

The next day who should drop into the orderly room looking for me but Bishop formerly of HMS Shearwater & then of Crow Baker's building opposite Temple Building & a friend of Meyersteins (now Merston of Corps Intelligence). The next day I looked him up & went into the very special & interesting work he is engaged in. He is a teetotaler & very keen on his job & evidently making good. I got him in to dine at H.Q. mess and he appeared to enjoy it. My present work gives me a better chance of meeting other officers than I had before as it takes me to staffs of all kinds & having a position representing one much higher than my own the fact that I am a subaltern does not cut so much ice.
