Dearest Mother: -
The war is over! Or at least the deadly part of it is. If London is symbolic of the Empire never has a nation so rejoiced. The crowds immediately went mad when the news of the signing of the armistice was published - and they stayed mad till the early hours of this morning, two days later. Never have I seen such sights and I am sure I never will again. They absolutely beggar description.
Whom do you think I was with on "Victory Day"? Robin Watt and his mother. Robin has now been wounded four times, the last a couple of months ago while he was A.D.C. to
