it was a good likeness and very natural looking, besides being well finished. These attributes, I believe, are the ones required in a good photograph. I had them taken in Eatons, where they do do good work and are most reasonable, they charged me $10 a dozen for my photos.

Our draft, being all officers, is quartered first cabin and we are most comfortable. There are four of us in a stateroom. Tommy Drew-Brook and I are in a room with two chaps who are strangers to me but who seem a pretty decent sort. Insofar as I know Jimmie Gray of whom I have written before and myself are the only Victorians among this draft of fifty R.F.C. men.

The rest of the passengers consist of a dozen civilians, half a dozen Canadian officers, a number of U.S. officers and about 1500 American troops.

The latter are the most undisciplined
