Q;- How do you know? A;- Practically ten minutes to six. I took out my watch and looked at it,- ten minutes to six; I was coming home. Q;- Did it stop on account of the water, when you got in the river? A;- It's a good watch; cost me a dollar and a half.

Well, the car left my shop on October 15th, the car was in perfect shape, the brakes was in good condition and every thing was in first class order. That's about as much as I can add.

Coroner;- You repaired it on October 15th? A;- Yes sir. Q;- You knew nothing of the car after, between that and the time of the accident? A;- Yes; it was in about four or five days. Q;- And what about the car then? A;- It was in perfect shape. Q;- You examined it then? A;- I asked him Q;- You didn't examine it then, just asked him? A;- Yes. Mr Cowan;- On October 15th you made an examination? A;- I put in a new Winton Wear end the old one was not heavy enough. Q;- That winton rear end new? A;- No; second hand;- thoroughly overhauled before it was put in. Q;- Did you say, what was overhauled? A;- The old brake lining. Q;- You say this Winton rear end was second hand before it you put it in this car? A;- I had it overhauled. Q;- What parts make up this winton rear end. A;- Axle, gears and case.
