A; - I have seen him drive towards me and drive past me.

Mr Cowan; How long had smith been driving over that road?

A; - I think three years.

Q; - How many times a day?

A; - Six or eight times, perhaps more sometimes.

Q; - He would go over trip and trip?

A; - I don't know.

Q; - As a rule two or three times? A; - Oh, yes; perhaps more.

Q; - The glass after the accident where did you find it?

A; - In front of the gates.

Q; - Its nearer the draw than the gates are? A; - Yes.

Q; - Just about where?

A; - In fact it was in several direction about the other gates.

Mr Ladner; Do you know whether the parts were rusty?

Q; - Portions of these guy ropes? A; - No sir.

Q; - How long were they one? A; - About eighteen months ago.

Q; - What kind of poles were they A; - Iron.

Q; - What were they made of? A; - Galvanized iron.

Q; - I understand you saw the car approaching when you went about 6.30 about that time? when did the accident take place?

A; - I should think about twenty minutes past six or a quarter to seven.

Mr Jackson; - There is a steep grade just inside the approach, that elevation is about ten feet in seventy-five? It is quite a steep grade.

A; - I don't call that a steep grade.

Q; - How much higher is the level of the bridge than the level of the approach? A; - Not very much.

Q; - About ten feet? A; - I would not think that.

Q; - You say from the far side from the water is about twenty feet?
